Blue Prairie Brands, Inc. has settled into a plant in Gering on Rundell Road. Brad Justice, co-founder and cheif operating officer director of the company has been in Gering working to get the plant ready for processing.

Snout-nosed moths no more than a nuisance

The area has been inundated with small white moths lately known as snout-nosed moths. Dr. Jeff Bradshaw, entomologist at the UNL Panhandle Research and Extension Center says the moths are not much of a danger to anything, but can be a nuisance.

One suggestion to save some of that produce for later months is canning. EPA deadline looms for farmers and atrazine

A deadline of Oct. 4 is looming for ag producers. In a struggling farm economy producers have about six weeks to respond to the Environmental Protection Agency report on the environmental impacts of atrazine.
The report if unchallenged would mean a virtual ban on atrazine.
