Carmen Trevino and John Randall join Kevin Mooney on KNEB's News Extra program Monday morning.

They are on the program to talk about the 2015 Salvation Army Bell Ringing campaign.

Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) has teamed up with The Salvation Army again this year for the annual Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign which kicked-off on Thanksgiving and will continue to ring through Christmas.

The bells are being rung at Wal-Mart, Kmart, Safeway, and Coop in Scottsbluff and at Fresh Foods in Gering.

Ninety percent of all the money raised will stay in the area to help people in need of rent and utility assistance, prescription assistance and to keep people inside and warm during the winter, food needs and other special projects throughout the year.

If anyone or a group would like to volunteer to ring the bells they are encouraged to call Carmen Trevino at 308-635-3089.

Scottsbluff High School Activities Director Dave Hoxworth and Bluffs Middle School Principal Bert Wright join Kevin Mooney on KNEB's News Extra program Friday morning.

"Take Home a Piece of Bearcat History" will be held tomorrow (Sat 11/21) and Sunday (11/22) at 1117 19th Avenue in Scottsbluff. (Former Fedex Ground Buiding, south and west of Reganis Motors) from 1 to 5 p.m. each day.

Coaches, past or present, are invited to have first opportunity to view/take items from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday before the items are made available to the public.  An inventory of items by activity will be available the week prior at www.sbps.net/takehomeshs.

During the event, the items will be released on a first come first served basis and community members are welcome to make a voluntary donation for any items taken to the Scottsbluff Booster Club, who will use any donations to help fund the new sound system at the SHS Gym. 

Individuals will be limited to five items per person until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, at which time this restriction will be removed.

They will learn four domains of leadership; executing, influencing, relationship building & strategic thinking. They will understand strengths and how to align talents in the work environment, and learn ideas for an action plan to apply strengths.

The annual Lake Minatare Soup Supper will be held tomorrow (Sat) evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lake Minatare School Gym.
(Go east on Highland Road, turn left on County Road 28, then turn right on County Road K and follow it to the school)

Meal includes choice of chili or chicken noodle soup, cinnamon bread, relish, dessert & drink.

They will also have silent auction items.

The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 4-11, free for kids 3 years and younger.
