WNCC Instrumental Music Instructor Dr. Nat Johnson joins Kevin Mooney on KNEB's News Extra program Monday morning.

The Instrumental Music Program at Western Nebraska Community College will present "Summer Nights" Saturday, November 15. The sixth annual Fall Ball, held at the Gering Civic Center, heats things up for a one night only dinner and show event.

"Summer Nights" features instrumental music ensembles, under the direction of Dr. Johnson, including student, faculty, and community talent. The evening begins with a social hour at 6:15 with music provided by Sultry Sounds. The show starts at 7:00 with performances by Monumental Rock Combo, Western Nebraska Winds, Fire-in-the-Pan Swingers, and the Cougar Athletic Band, all under the direction of Music Instructor and Band Director Nat Johnson.

Johnson, who plays clarinet for the 101st Army Band (Colorado National Guard) in Denver, further mixes things up this year by joining the Monumental Rock Combo on tenor saxophone.

Along with great music, patrons will enjoy a dinner meal of chicken kabobs (chicken with peppers, onions, and mushrooms) over rice pilaf, beet squash medley, strawberry spinach salad, peach crisp with ice cream, rolls and butter, and coffee or tea. The meal and the musical event cost only $30.
